Petroecuador: ITT Offer is Ready
William Pastor, an agent of Petroecuador’s affiliate company Petroamazonas, announced yesterday that the company’s proposal for the extraction of the Ishpingo Tambococha Tiputini (ITT) oil field is ready for presentation. With 900 million barrels, the ITT field is one of the stars of the regime for oil projects of that caliber.
The director of the local oil company, under orders from the President Rafael Correa, asked Petroecuador to elaborate one or more alternatives for the extraction of this oil field, in case the preferred option of leaving the oil underground does not work out.
“We are going to present an option that is within our reach: develop the ITT in two phases. The first is extracting the Tiputini area and the second will cover Tambococha and Ishpingo.”
The first phase would be carried out by Petroamazonas, and the second by a strategic partner, “above all using cutting edge technology,” said the agent.
For that to happen, he anticipates the creation of a mixed company comprised of Petroamazonas or Petroproducción and a state or private firm. Petroamazonas, which operates Block 15 in the Amazon, anticipates submitting the offer next week.
Petroecuador, on their part, is preparing an international bidding for the development of the project.

Lista la oferta para el ITT: Pastor
El gerente de Petroamazonas, filial de Petroecuador, Wilson Pastor, informó ayer que está lista la propuesta que presentará esta empresa para la explotación del campo Ishpingo Tambococha Tiputini (ITT). Por su nivel de reservas (900 millones de barriles), el ITT es uno de los proyectos petroleros estrella del Régimen.
El Directorio de la petrolera local, por disposición del presidente Rafael Correa, pidió a Petroecuador que se elaboren una o varias alternativas para la explotación de este campo, en caso de que la alternativa para dejar su crudo en tierra no funcione.
“Vamos a presentar una opción que está a nuestro alcance: desarrollar el ITT en dos fases. La primera fase es explotar el área de Tiputini y la otra comprende Tambococha e Ishpingo” .
La primera etapa estaría a cargo de Petroamazonas y para la segunda haría falta un socio estratégico, “ sobre todo por el tema tecnológico”, acotó el funcionario.
Para ello, anticipó que se pudiera crear una empresa mixta conformada por Petroamazonas o Petroproducción y una firma estatal o privada. La filial, que opera el bloque 15, en la Amazonia, prevé entregar la oferta la próxima semana.
