  • The Yasuni region is the ancestral territory of the Huaorani. Now, Huaorani territory is made up of Yasuni National Park (light brown), and the 6,000 km 2 Huaorani Ethnic Territory (darker brown), which was granted to the Huaorani by the Ecuadorian government in 1990.
  • This map illustrates the location, number and sizes of Huaorani communities. Each dot represents a community and the size of the dot reflects population size. There are 32 communities with an estimated population of 2,500.
