  • The Ecuadorian Amazon supports record levels of biodiversity due to its unique location at the intersection of the Amazon, the Andes Mountains, and the equator (see left image). Yasuni National park (outlined in green in the image on the right) lies in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
